Design Process
While the design and development of every website is different, they do follow a general process. Here is what you can expect from us.
STEP 1 :: INITIAL DISCUSSION
We start by learning everything possible about your business, your ideal clients, your primary goals, your timeframe and budget so we can define what you want us to do. After getting that information, we’ll put together a proposal for you and take you through it. If you approve, we’ll schedule in time to work on your project and give you a finish date. We’ll also email you an invoice for half the project cost.
STEP 2 :: PLANNING AND RESEARCH
Next, we’ll create a comprehensive plan for you to meet your goal. We’ll do some market research, competitor analysis, and benchmark your current site (if you have one) with web analytics. This stage may include wireframes, site map, user personas, and SEO and content strategy. If you have a new site, we’ll register your domain name and setup your website hosting account. Also, at this stage, you’ll send us the content – logos, images and text (we can help you create these too if you don’t have them).
STEP 3 :: VISUAL DESIGN
After walking you through the plan, we’ll create a beautiful design that meets your brief and ties in with the needs of your site visitors. We’ll create mock-ups and full designs in response to your feedback. At the end of this stage, we’ll send you a progress invoice.
STEP 4 :: DEVELOPMENT
After you approve the finished design, we’ll go ahead and create a standards-compliant, user-accessible, easy-to-manage site. We’ll integrate the work done on site structure, content, copy, marketing strategy and design into your finished website. We can either build your site as a static site or integrate it into the content management system (CMS) of your choice.
STEP 5 :: TEST AND LAUNCH
Finally, we thoroughly test your new site for user experience, technical issues and copy errors and launch it. Once you’ve signed off on this stage, we’ll meet with you to plan for ongoing improvements and analysis of your site and then send you a final invoice.
STEP 6 :: IMPROVE
We will meet with you on a quarterly or semi-annual basis to improve your site’s performance. This meeting may include analysis and recommendations of analytics and visitor surveys, user testing and recommendations, and a review of recent innovations for the web.
What will my website cost?
The time it takes to develop every site is different, so without knowing your requirements, it’s hard to give you a precise answer. The most important part of giving you a quote is to understand your needs. Get in touch to start the conversation.
